Specs checked against Surron's own pages on October 3, 2026.
We think it will. The Surron Light Bee 2 makes 24 kW and weighs 143.3 lb. By Surron's own numbers it beats the 195 lb Ultra Bee HP to 50 mph, and it does that at the same seat height as a Light Bee X.
One caveat. Bikes started reaching dealers in September 2026, so "ever" is a big word for a bike riders have had for a few weeks. We're calling it early anyway.
The Ultra Bee proved riders would pay for more
The Ultra Bee did well for Surron, and you can see it in how hard they kept pushing it. It launched for 2023 with 12.5 kW and a 187 lb curb weight. The 2026 Ultra Bee HP makes 24.5 kW in Turbo mode at 195 lb.
The aftermarket chased the bike, and we saw it in our own orders. Our Ultra Bee 17in supermoto wheel kit has 40 reviews at a 4.78 average. The brakes went further than the bike did. Riders liked them enough to bolt them onto other bikes, so today we sell Ultra Bee brake kits for the Light Bee X, E Ride Pro, Talaria, Yozma, Tuttio, RTR and Super 73. Surron builds one of those seven. The Yozma and Tuttio kit is our best-selling part.
We saw it on the rider side too. The Ultra Bee came out and there was an instant boom in people selling their Light Bees to buy one.
The gap Surron left open for three years
Put the two bikes Surron sold in 2025 next to each other. The Light Bee X made 8 kW and weighed 125.6 lb. The Ultra Bee made 21.5 kW, or 24.5 in Turbo, and weighed 195 lb with a seat 3.2 in taller. Surron had no bike between them.
So if you wanted Ultra Bee power in a bike the size of a Light Bee, you had two ways to get it. You could build it yourself with a controller and a bigger battery. Or you could buy another brand. Talaria and E Ride Pro built bikes for that gap, and enough riders bought them that we keep a parts collection for Talaria and another for E Ride Pro.
Surron left that gap open for three years. Then they closed it with one bike.
Light Bee 2 specs vs the Ultra Bee HP and Light Bee X
The Surron Light Bee 2 makes 24 kW, weighs 143.3 lb and tops out at 55.92 mph on a 78.54V 45Ah battery (3.53 kWh). That's 2.4 times the power of the 2026 Light Bee X for 13.3 lb more weight. Against the Ultra Bee HP it gives up half a kilowatt and comes in 51.7 lb lighter.

Sources: Surron's US pages for the Light Bee 2, 2026 Light Bee X and Ultra Bee HP, plus Surron Canada's Light Bee 2 sheet for tire sizes. We worked out kWh for the Light Bee X and Ultra Bee HP from volts times amp hours.
Start with the seat height. The Light Bee 2 matches the Light Bee X to the hundredth of an inch, and the wheelbase grows by 0.98 in. Surron kept the Light Bee size and put Ultra Bee power in it.
Then look at the two acceleration rows. The Light Bee 2 reaches 31 mph in 1.8 seconds and 50 mph in 3.43. The Ultra Bee HP needs 1.84 and 3.7. Surron adds a footnote that traction and wheel lift limited the Light Bee 2's times, so the motor had more to give. Work out power per pound and the Light Bee 2 carries 33% more than the Ultra Bee HP.
The line tuners will care about sits lower on Surron's page. Their R&D team saw 35 kW peak from this motor in controlled testing. Stock is 24.
(A note on torque. Surron's US page prints wheel torque as 320.4 ft-lb in the headline and 302.4 ft-lb further down. The 54% gain Surron quotes over the 2025 Light Bee works with 302.4, and UK dealers list 410 Nm, which converts to the same number. We used 302.4.)
Where the Ultra Bee HP still wins
The Ultra Bee HP keeps the bigger battery at 4.44 kWh, 26% more than the Light Bee 2. It makes 384 ft-lb at the wheel against 302.4, runs to 59 mph, and sits on a wheelbase 3.94 in longer with 12.4 in of ground clearance. If you're tall, or your riding is fast and open, the Ultra Bee HP is the better fit.
Don't compare the range figures. Surron tested the Light Bee 2 at 24.85 mph (67.11 miles) and the Ultra Bee HP at 31 mph (71 miles).
Why we think the Light Bee 2 will outsell the Ultra Bee
The Ultra Bee asked Light Bee riders to move up to a taller, heavier bike. The Light Bee 2 asks for 13.3 lb. If a Light Bee X fits you, your garage and your truck bed, this one does too.
You also get the power stock. Getting a Light Bee near these numbers used to take a controller swap and a battery swap, plus the money for both. Now a dealer hands it to you, and it costs less than the bigger bike. Surron doesn't publish a US price, but Surron Canada lists the Light Bee 2 at $7,499 CAD and the Ultra Bee at $7,999 CAD. The US dealer listings we checked on October 3, 2026 ran $5,199 to $6,099 for the Light Bee 2 and $5,599 to $6,399 for the Ultra Bee HP.
And then there's the street. The Ultra Bee is a lot of bike for street riding, and a 143.3 lb bike with 24 kW is the best supermoto base Surron has sold. We watched riders sell Light Bees to buy Ultra Bees. We expect the trade to run the other way now, with riders selling Ultra Bees that are too big for the street to get a Light Bee 2.
It could still go wrong. The platform is new, riders don't have a long-term read on the gearbox or the battery yet, and the parts catalog starts near empty.
That's our case. The original Light Bee got most of us into e-motos, and the Ultra Bee showed how much power riders would pay for. The Light Bee 2 is the first Surron that gives you both at once.
Most Light Bee X parts won't fit the Light Bee 2
Most parts don't carry over, if any. Pegs and handlebars might. The brakes, suspension and wheels are all different, and so is every other part Surron made for this bike alone.
Surron changed the whole bike. The Light Bee 2 sits on a new forged frame Surron rates 50% stronger than the original Light Bee's, with a swingarm twice as stiff in torsion. The motor is new too. It carries a reduction gearbox inside the case where the Light Bee X runs a primary belt, and Surron cools it with an oil bath.
Don't let the tire sizes fool you. Surron Canada's sheet lists the same stock sizes as the Light Bee X, 70/100-19 front and 3.00-18 rear, but the wheels are different. A Light Bee X supermoto set won't fit a Light Bee 2.
EXC Designs Light Bee 2 parts and supermoto wheels
EXC Designs is the first e-moto parts company to design parts for the Light Bee 2. With so little carrying over from the Light Bee X, we're building the catalog from the bike up, and 17in supermoto wheels are part of it.
A supermoto kit swaps the stock 19in front and 18in rear dirt wheels for 17in wheels with street tires. On the Light Bee 2 that puts street rubber under a bike with 33% more power per pound than an Ultra Bee HP.
We've built these before. Our Ultra Bee 17in kit is the one with 40 reviews at 4.78, and we sell 17in supermoto wheels for the Light Bee X and E Ride Pro too.
There's no pre-order yet. Expect an update soon with our full Light Bee 2 catalog.
